Celtic player makes U-turn after controversial caption
Odin Thiago Holm has made a bright start to life at Celtic. The Norwegian midfielder has been signed from Valerenga this summer and while he might not be a starter yet, he is certainly showing the potential to develop into one in the future. He came off the bench in the recent game against Aberdeen.
Holm certainly looked positive in his cameo off the bench against the Dons and he is certainly someone who has been able to catch the eye of the supporters. And so did one of his recent captions on Instagram.
Holm posted a photo of himself running past an Aberdeen player on the floor. He shared a lyric, in a nod to Kendrick Lamar’s song ‘Humble’, about sitting down and being humble.
Most Celtic fans certainly enjoyed it. While many believed that it was a bit disrespectful. Ultimately, Holm went on to remove the caption and replaced it with a simple “#3p”. But by then, it had managed to gain a lot of attention on social media and understandably so.

At the end of the day, it is important to remember that Holm is just 20 years of age and playing his first season of football for Celtic. The microscope is always larger in Glasgow and he will learn that pretty quickly.
It does not feel like he meant any disrespect. It is just a lyric from a popular song that fits the picture. There is no need to read too much into it.
The most important thing is that he is doing well on the pitch. The Norwegian looks like someone who can make a genuine impact for the Hoops even this season and not just in the future. With Reo Hatate pick up a potential injury, more regular minutes could be on the way for him.
