Celtic have a couple of great options up top right now. Kyogo Furuhashi is the main man for the Hoops, coming off a 34-goal 2022/23 campaign. He has already opened his account this time around with a strike against Ross County on Flag Day. Oh Hyeon-gyu has been impressive as well, as he looks to have found his feet in Scottish football following a January move from Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

With a long season ahead though, including Champions League group stage football to come, many feel that the club could with a third option up top. And they are being linked with an unexpected move for a West Ham United player.

As reported by FootballTransfers, Michail Antonio is keen to leave West Ham United this summer. The Jamaican international is pushing for a move away and has no lack of suitors. Amongst them are Celtic and Leeds United.

Antonio has been a stalwart up top for West Ham United for the past several years and on his day, he is a handful for most teams in the world. He is coming off an interesting 2022/23 campaign though.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Antonio scored 14 goals and provided 5 assists in 48 appearances last season. 5 of those goals came in the Premier League and 6 in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

His importance to this West Ham United is shown through those numbers. They struggled in the Premier League last season but went on to win the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Someone like Antonio could surely bring something to the plate for Celtic. He has top-level experience and seems like someone who rises to the occasion as well. But then, one has to wonder what signing the Jamaican international would mean for the likes of Kyogo and Oh. The 33-year-old surely would not come to sit on the bench.
