Celtic have already lost an incredibly key player in Jota this summer and Carl Starfelt is expected to leave the club this week too. Their departures will have surely weakened the squad and the Hoops need to make sure that they bring in proper replacements. On the other hand, highly-rated youngsters are being linked with moves away as well.
Rocco Vata is arguably the brightest young talent at the club right now. Son of former Celtic star, Rudi Vata, there are high expectations surrounding the 18-year-old.
He has already managed to break into the first-team picture as well. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 4 appearances for Celtic and played 39 minutes of football.
Hopes are that he will go on to develop into a regular starter someday and certainly seems to possess the talent to do that. But clubs around Europe seem to be keeping an eye on Vata and with just a year left on his contract, that might be a worry for Celtic.
Sky Sports man confirms Serie A club want Celtic player
Quite a few players have left the Scottish Premiership for Serie A in recent years. And as tweeted out Anthony Joseph, Torino are interested in Vata.
By this point in time, Celtic fans are used to seeing some of the club’s brightest youngsters leave for clubs around Europe. One can only hope that that does not turn out to be the case with Vata and that he remains in Glasgow for the foreseeable future.
There does seem to be a path into the first-team for him if he can continue to develop. Brendan Rodgers has a great track record when it comes to getting the best out of youngsters. It was during his first spell that Callum McGregor established himself as an undroppable. Hopefully, he can do the same with Vata.
