The manner in which Neil Lennon’s run as Celtic manager ended up disappointing, to say the least. With 10IAR up for grabs, the Hoops’ 2020/21 campaign went completely off the tracks. They ended up finishing trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers in the league. And the Northern Irish manager would walk away in the middle of the season. By then, there was no chance of coming back in the title race though.
That campaign left a bitter taste in the mouths of a lot of Celtic fans. And as a result of it, Lennon often does not get the credit that he deserves for the job that he did for the Hoops, while as a player and over his two stints as a manager.
When all is said and done, and some more time has passed, Lennon will surely get recognition as a Celtic legend. He won a lot of silverware for the Hoops, while on the pitch and in the dugout.
Lennon’s son is taking his first steps in football these days. And he has joined one of Celtic’s Scottish Premiership rivals.
Lennon’s son signs for Celtic’s Premiership rivals
As reported by Glasgow Times, Lennon’s son Gallagher has signed a contract with St Mirren. The 17-year-old had spent pre-season on trial with the Buddies.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, St Mirren have given the 17-year-old centre-back a one-year full-time deal. He is now training with Stephen Robinson’s top team squad.
Thus, it is good to see that his career is progressing well already. He was with Partick Thistle last season.
Of course, there will be a lot of expectations and pressure on the shoulders of the youngster, considering his father’s achievements in the game. Hopefully, he is able to carve out a path for himself. There is no question about his talent. He has already represented Northern Ireland at youth levels.
