Celtic find themselves in a very interesting position right now. They won the domestic treble last season and for the second straight campaign, they are in the Champions League group stage as well. Thus, the Hoops are certainly moving in the right direction. They have a new manager in place though, with Ange Postecoglou leaving this summer in order to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Celtic have gone out and got themselves the best replacement possible. Brendan Rodgers has returned for a second stint in the Parkhead hot seat.

There were fears that there would be some pushback from the Celtic fans, considering the manner in which Rodgers left last time and the blow his reputation took as a result of it. Yet, the Northern Irishman was given a brilliant welcome by the supporters on his return to Parkhead.

Thus, it looks like most Celtic fans are firmly behind the team and the manager. The future should certainly be very bright for them.

Sky Sports man makes superb claim about Celtic future

As reported by CeltsAreHere, Anthony Joseph said during his appearance on the CeltsAreHere podcast:

"“It was being talked to me by contacts and people close to the deal with Rodgers coming back to Celtic, as a Celtic fan, that was very exciting to hear that Europe is finally being seen as a focus rather than just a bonus.”"

So, it looks like European football is a focus this time around and the journalist went on to add:

"“Win the league this year and then let’s see where Celtic are and what they can do with the extra cash, the extra pulling power, and to grow as a club for the next decade and beyond.”"

He further added:

"“Beyond Rodgers at Celtic, they’ll have pulling power to bring in better managers, the pulling power to bring in better players. That’s the potential.”"

The club must be given credit for going out and bringing in the best possible replacement for Postecoglou in Rodgers. It must not have been an easy decision.

On the other hand, Celtic’s recruitment this summer has left quite a lot to be desired. They have brought five very highly-rated young players but have added nothing when it comes to experience and proven quality.

The least they should do is sign a proper replacement for Jota, who left in a blockbuster move to Al-Ittihad. They have signed a couple of wingers in Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio, but neither might be ready to take the Portuguese’s place in the team.
