Celtic have already completed five signings this summer. The club have brought in highly-rated youngsters like Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Maik Nawrocki. All of them have a lot of potential and it will be interesting to see their developments at Parkhead over the coming months.

Celtic fans cannot be blamed though for being a bit disappointed with the club’s transfer activity this summer till now. After all, there had been rumours of marquee signings and broken records. None of that has materialised yet.

There is still over a month of the summer transfer window left though. Expectations are that a few more additions will be made.

Brendan Rodgers has given an update on the situation. It looks like no more signings are expected to be made before the opening league match of the season against Ross County. As reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic manager said:

"“I think it was important we brought some players in early on to settle them and allow them to adapt. I didn’t want to wait for people to go before bringing people in.“But we’d hope we can add some more before the window shuts. Probably after (the Ross County game), there’s still a long way to go in the window.”"

Celtic’s Flag Day game against Ross County is set to be played on August 5. That is only a week away. Before that, the club do have a friendly match against Athletic Bilbao as well.

Let’s see how things play out over the coming week. Celtic have a lot of fitness issues right now, especially at the back. One would be hoping that a few of them recover in time to at least take part in the match against Ross County. The Hoops will be looking for a positive result on the opening day of the season.

The fans will also be keeping an eye on transfer rumours as well. The club have brought in several highly-rated youngsters already. Now, their focus should shift towards adding a few experienced and established players to the roster. That is what is missing at the moment.
