Celtic have already seen one regular starter leave this summer in the form of Jota. The Portuguese winger was a major part of their successes over the past couple of seasons and the club will need to find a suitable replacement for him. The Hoops have brought in a couple of wingers in the form of Yang Hyun-jun and Marco Tilio, but there are doubts over whether either of them is ready to be a part of the starting XI from the get go.

Celtic cannot afford to lose any more starters this summer, with three trophies to defend and Champions League group stage football to play next season. But that has not stopped quite a few players from being linked with moves away.

Carl Starfelt is someone who falls under that category. As reported by Football Scotland, Spartak Moscow are preparing an offer for the Swede this summer.

Celtic have been urged to keep Starfelt at Parkhead though. As reported by Football Insider, Alan Hutton said about the situation:

"“You would have to want to keep him.“He did well last season, he was reliable, had a good understanding with Carter-Vickers.“After that there is Welsh, [Yuki] Kobayashi, are they ready to play week in week out? I think you need four.“I think Brendan Rodgers will still want to keep hold of him even though they have brought somebody in. But money talks, if it is an offer that they feel is good value for the player then they will accept it.“"

Starfelt has been a regular starter for Celtic over the past couple of seasons, partnering with Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of defence. And while the American centre-back has gotten the majority of the plaudits, the Swedish international has played his part as well.

Celtic have signed a new centre-back this summer in the form of Maik Nawrocki, who has been brought in from Legia Warsaw. But still, they should have Starfelt around, at least until someone proves that they are ready to take the Swede’s place in the starting XI.

Starfelt is the most experienced centre-back at the club as well, at 28 years of age. But at the same time, that could be one of the reasons why Celtic might consider parting ways with him if a good offer arrives on their table this summer.
