Steven Gerrard is not someone that Celtic fans are too fond of. After all, the Englishman managed the Rangers for more than three years. During that time, he was only able to guide them to one trophy. But it was a big one nonetheless, as it prevented the Hoops from completing a historic 10IAR.

Gerrard’s managerial career has headed south since that success though. He would leave the Rangers in the middle of the very next campaign to move to the Premier League and take the Aston Villa job.

Things did not go according to plan there. After a promising start, Gerrard struggled to get the best out of a very talented Aston Villa squad and was shown the exit door within a year of arriving.

Now, he finds himself at Al-Ettifaq. And his team have interestingly ended up signing a couple of former Celtic players.

Al-Ettifaq have signed Moussa Dembele and Jack Hendry. Both of them played for Celtic at one point in their careers and their new club appeared to be keen to bring up that connection.

They posted an image on Twitter of two hands holding a four leaf clover each and mentioned ‘The Bhoys’ in the caption as well:

Of course, Dembele is one of the best players that Celtic have had in recent memory. He was exceptional during his time at Parkhead, scoring a lot of important goals and was a part of their Invincible campaign as well. He would ultimately leave to join Lyon and with his contract running out there, he now has joined Al-Ettifaq as a free agent.

On the other hand, Hendry never managed to establish himself as a key player for Celtic. The centre-back has enjoyed some success since leaving the club though.
