Celtic might not have made any marquee signings this summer yet, but they have brought in some very highly-rated young talents from around the globe, who can go on to be key players for the club if their development goes according to expectations. The Hoops’ latest addition is Polish youth international, Maik Nawrocki.

Nawrocki has been brought in from Legia Warsaw. Celtic have a great record when it comes to signing players from the Polish club. They have brought in the likes of Artur Boruc and Josip Juranovic from there in the past.

One would hope that Nawrocki would follow in their footsteps and go on to establish himself as a key player at Celtic. Let’s see what the future holds for him.

It looks like the atmosphere at Celtic Park on Champions League nights is something that managed to capture the imagination of Nawrocki. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said on the club’s YouTube channel:

"“I think everybody knows Celtic.“They have the Champions League and everything. So a big argument to come here and make the next step for me.“The nights here at Celtic Park in the Champions League will be amazing.“I saw some [games]. I think the famous quote from Toni Kroos when he said that this was the loudest place that he was. I remember this.”"

A new centre-back is something that was needed at Celtic. We have seen the club struggled in the absence of Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has been out for a while and is recovering after undergoing surgery.

They leaked goals in the last few games of the previous campaign and conceded six times in a pre-season friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos this time around. Carl Starfelt has not looked at his best without Carter-Vickers by his side while there are question marks over the futures of Yuki Kobayashi and Stephen Welsh.

Thus, there might be an opportunity for Nawrocki to come in and challenge for a starting spot from the get go. Of course, it will all depend on how he adapts to the Scottish game and performs in the Celtic jersey. But the Polish youngster does seem to possess the talent to be a big part of this team moving forward.
