With two more new signings announced by Celtic so far this week in the form of Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu, and another expected very soon, the focus has been more on incoming players. But Brendan Rodgers and his team will have a close eye on the need for some players to move out too.

There are several players within the squad who do need to make a move elsewhere. Quite a few have very little opportunity to break into the first-team picture next season.

A move away would be in their best interests to get more game time and take a step forward in their careers. It would also be very much in the club’s interest too, so the squad can be managed more effectively.

Osaze Urhoghide certainly featured on the list of players who needed an exit this summer. Signed back in the summer of 2021 from Sheffield Wednesday, he has barely played for the Hoops and spent most of the time out on loan. He has managed to secure a permanent move away this time around though.

As reported by Football Scotland, Urhoghide has left Celtic on a permanent deal. The defender has signed a three-year deal with French Ligue 2 side, Amiens.

Urhoghide did win the only game that he played for Celtic, a 3-2 victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Europa League. And to be fair, he played well that night. But his raw talent and strength didn’t match up with the sort of experience and ball playing skills that the Hoops needed at the back.

Urhoghide has been out on a couple of loan deals to Belgian side, KV Oostende since January of 2022. And now, he has ended up joining Amiens in Ligue 2 of French football on a permanent basis.
