Following the arrival of Brendan Rodgers for a second stint in the Parkhead hot seat, there were rumours that Celtic were looking to make some marquee signings in the summer transfer window, with an aim to make an impact in the UEFA Champions League group stage. More than a month has passed since then but no additions of such magnitude have been made. On the contrary, the Hoops have seen Jota leave in a £25 million move.

That is not to say that Celtic have not been active in this summer transfer window. They have already brought in four new players in the form of Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu.

The arrival of Maik Nawrocki from Legia Warsaw is also believed to be only a matter of time. Rumours suggest the deal is over the line and an announcement is expected very soon.

All of them are great young talents from around the globe with a lot of potential. Sooner or later, the club will need to bring in some experienced and established stars as well though.

Arsenal make Tierney decision amid Celtic return rumours

One of the players that Celtic have been, rather surprisingly, linked with is Kieran Tierney. The Scot finds himself down the pecking order at Arsenal right now and a summer exit was expected.

But as reported by the Daily Record, Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside:

"“Kieran Tierney – This story has gone a little quiet but it remains one to watch later in the window. It’s quiet now but it could change. Arsenal are not desperate to sell Tierney, but they’d just consider that option if an important bid arrives.”"

Thus, it looks like Arsenal are not considering letting Tierney leave on loan and will only let him leave for an important bid. As a result, a return to Celtic Park this summer can be pretty much ruled out.

Earlier in the summer transfer window, there were rumours linking Tierney with a move to clubs like Newcastle United and Aston Villa as well. But they have faded away over the past few weeks.
