Celtic have already completed a few signings this summer. Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio were brought in early on in the window. On the other hand, it is believed that they have gotten deals over the line for Kwon Hyeok-kyu and Yang Hyun-jun, even though they have not been officially announced yet. And now, it looks like the Hoops are closing in on another signing.
Defence has emerged as an area of worry for the club in recent months. They leaked goals in the last few matches of last season, in the absence of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston. And in their pre-season game against Yokohama F. Marinos, they let in six goals as well.
There are already question marks over Yuki Kobayashi’s future, despite arriving only earlier this year. And Stephen Welsh is expected to be on his way out in this window.
Fortunately, it looks like Celtic are on the verge of signing a centre-back in the form of Maik Nawrocki. The Polish youth international currently plays for Legia Warsaw and is coming off of an impressive season.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Nawrocki has completed a medical with Celtic and is close to agreeing terms on a five-year deal. It is understood that there are still a few things to iron out, but the move is expected to be completed.
Nawrocki is very highly rated and at 22 years of age, he has plenty of time and room to develop as well. So, if Celtic are able to sign him, it would have to considered as a major coup for the club.
Nawrocki might be just 22 but he already has some solid experience at the senior level, and has even played in the Europa League. Thus, he could potentially challenge for a starting XI spot.
