There have been rumours that Celtic could try to make a few marquee signings this summer. Of course, those kind of suggestions have been very successful in getting the fans excited but till now, they have not led to anything of substance. Let’s see if that changes as we head into the later weeks of the ongoing transfer window.

On the other hand, the club have already seen a major exit. Jota decided to leave Celtic after two very successful seasons playing for the Hoops, in order to join the likes of Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante at Al-Ittihad.

Yes, Celtic did receive a major transfer fee in exchange for Jota. But at the same time, they lost one of their most important players as well, who was a nailed on starter for them and had also proven that he was the man for the big moments.

Celtic simply cannot afford to lose any more of their key players, especially on the flanks. But rumours are linking another one with a big move away from Parkhead this summer.

As reported by The Mail+, Liel Abada has been added to Fenerbahce’s list of summer transfer targets. The Israeli international is under contract at Parkhead until the summer of 2026, and would command a fee in excess of £10 million.

Abada might not have been a starter for the Hoops last season, and was mostly used as an impact substitute, but he could take up Jota’s spot in the starting XI. The Israeli international’s output has always been impressive. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 28 goals and provided 20 assists in 101 appearances and 5375 minutes of football for Celtic till now.

Thus, the best case scenario for Celtic would be Abada staying on at the club. He has been linked with many big teams in recent months. Let’s see what the future holds.
