This is a very important summer transfer window for Celtic. With Ange Postecoglou leaving the club and Brendan Rodgers replacing him in the Parkhead hot seat, the Hoops need to make sure that they back the Northern Irishman to reshape and rebuild the squad according to his vision and plans.
Till now, they have completed the signings of Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio. And it is believed that they have gotten deals over the line for Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu as well, even though they have not been officially announced yet.
They are highly rated young talents for sure but Celtic also need to bring in some experienced and established players this summer with three trophies to defend and another Champions League group stage coming up as well. Fortunately, there have been rumours about marquee signings.
One player that they have been linked with is Brazilian winger, Tete. And as reported by GIVEMESPORT, Fabrizio Romano said:
"“They are still discussing internally. I think when you have money, it’s not easy on the market because they know you have an important budget to sign that player.“This is why they’re probably taking some time to assess their options and find the best one. Tete could be one of them, but I’m sure he’s not the only one.”"
Fabrizio Romano confirms Celtic interest in €20m player
Tete is believed to be rated at a transfer value around €20 million. But his current deal with Shakhtar Donetsk is believed to run out at the end of the year. The Brazilian winger is believed to be keen to leave the club at the end of this season as well. So, it is expected that he would be available for a bargain fee.
It remains to be seen if Celtic end up making a move for Tete this summer. There is no question about his ability. He has performed brilliantly for Shakhtar Donetsk over the years, and on loan at Lyon.
Tete worked under the management of Rodgers for a few months too, on loan at Leicester City. But the Northern Irishman was shown the exit door in early April while the Brazilian winger had an underwhelming spell in England.
