One of Celtic’s latest summer signings has gotten a terrific endorsement from his previous club’s president. And it will only excite the supporters about the potential that the South Korean youth international holds. Till now, the signing of Yang Hyun-jun is yet to be officially confirmed by the Hoops, who tend to keep things quiet until everything is complete.

But Yang and Gangwon FC have been very open about the move to Glasgow over the past few days. Perhaps we are just awaiting the completion of the final details for Kwon Hyeok-kyu to also become a Celtic player, and the Hoops are possibly planning a double announcement.

Kwon’s deal is a very open one too with a public farewell message issued by Busan IPark. So, it looks like a matter of when and not if, when it comes to both deals.

There were suggestions that with Celtic on tour in Japan currently, Kwon and Yang could join up with the squad there. But now, it looks like the two players are heading to Glasgow to finalise their deals.

Yang is one of the best young talents in South Korean football right now. And it is no secret that Gangwon FC rate him very highly, considering that they did not want to let him leave this summer.

Gangwon FC president, Kim Byung-ji, even believes that he could emulate Son. As reported by Glasgow World, he said:

"“I hope Yang will continue to grow. He could easily become a world class player like Son Heung-Min. He was a mainstay for our team and was an inspiration. I look forward to watchim him produce brilliant performances for Celtic in the future.“My hope is that he never forgets Gangwon and we always have a special place in his heart for his future journey and I hope he returns to visit us. I know he will go to Celtic and become a better player too. He carries with him to Scotland the love and support of our players and fans. We wish him all the very best.”"

Yang comes with that great endorsement and had been the K-League Young Player of the Year in 2022. A winger in a side like Celtic should be highly involved in matches and get a great opportunity to show what they can do on the pitch. Now, it is about him adjusting to the Scottish game and proving that he is worth the hype surrounding him.
