Celtic will need to sign a replacement for Jota this summer. The Portuguese winger left the club in order to join Al-Ittihad in a blockbuster exit. While the club did bring in a huge transfer fee in exchange, they also lost a nailed on starter, who had played a major part in their successes over the past two seasons and proven himself as a big match player as well.
Thus, someone of Jota’s quality will certainly take some replacing. And one of the most exciting names that Celtic have been linked with in that regard is Tete.
The Brazilian winger is currently at Shakhtar Donetsk but is believed to be very keen on leaving the club, considering the current circumstances. He spent last season out on loan, first at Lyon and then at Leicester City.
As a result, Brendan Rodgers will know him well, as he did manage Tete for a few months last season. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic make a move for him if or not.
Agent drops possible Celtic transfer hint amid Tete links
Tete’s agent is Pablo Bueno. And interestingly, he has started following Celtic on Instagram. Could that be a possible hint?
Bueno is also the agent of Ferreira, the Gremio winger, who has also been linked with Celtic recently. Thus, him following the club on Instagram is certainly interesting and it remains to be seen if something comes of it.
Celtic certainly need to bring a winger with flair in order to replace Jota. Someone like Tete could certainly fit that bit. He might have struggled at Leicester City, but before that, he had a superb loan spell at Lyon and has been great for Shakhtar Donetsk as well.
Most fans would prefer the club signing Tete over Ferreira. But do not rule the possibility of the Gremio winger arriving either. Let’s see what the future holds.
