Celtic are rumoured to be looking to make a few marquee signings this summer. And they definitely need to strengthen on the wings, following the exit of Jota in a £25 million move to Al-Ittihad. The Portuguese winger had been a nailed on starter for the Hoops for the past couple of seasons and played a major role in all their successes under the management of Ange Postecoglou.
Jota leaving certainly weakens the team. They have brought in Marco Tilio since then, while a move for Yang Hyun-jun is expected to be announced soon as well. But it is uncertain whether either of them is ready to be a starter for the Hoops.
Celtic need someone proven at the top level to take Jota’s place in the starting XI. And that is why fans have been left excited by the rumours linking them with a move for Tete.
Tete has already worked under the management of Brendan Rodgers for a few months, when he was on loan at Leicester City. His spell in England was not a success. But the Brazilian has proven himself for Lyon and Shakhtar Donetsk in the past and is a quality player without any doubt.

Celtic are not the only club interested in signing the Brazilian. As reported by SPOR (via The Scottish Sun), Fenerbahce have identified three new winger targets and one of them is Tete.
Tete is believed to have a transfer value of around €20 million. But he is expected to be available for a bargain fee this summer.
Tete’s current deal with Shakhtar Donetsk runs out at the end of the year. And the player is believed to be keen on leaving the club this summer itself. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic can get a deal done.
