Ange Postecoglou’s run at Celtic might have only lasted a couple of seasons, but nobody can deny the impact that he made during that period of time. A lot of things changed at Parkhead and for the better. One of the biggest changes was felt on their transfer strategy, as they spread their network further and wider than ever before, and were successful in discovering a lot of hidden gems across the globe.
Over the past couple of seasons, Celtic brought in players like Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate, Josip Juranovic, Alistair Johnston, Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada and several others. Some of them have already left while the others will hopefully continue being a part of the club for years to come.
When Postecoglou left, many fans feared that it would lead to a change of the transfer strategy, which had brought them so much success. That has not happened though.
The club have signed Marco Tilio and Odin Thiago Holm already this summer while they are believed to be closing in on moves for Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu. At the same time though, some fans are worried that it would not be ideal to make ‘Ange signings’ while Brendan Rodgers is the manager.
Sky Sports man makes superb Celtic transfer claim
Anthony Joseph tweeted out a very positive update regarding Celtic’s summer transfer moves:
Seeing a lot of comments regarding Celtic’s global recruitment search. These aren’t “Ange signings”. Ange’s influence definitely guided Celtic towards these untapped markets. Celtic scouts/recruitment know them well now. They’re continuing to identify targets in these areas.

Thus, while Postecoglou’s presence might have led to the changing of the transfer strategy, it looks like the club are now in a position where they can continue on without the Australian manager in the Parkhead hot seat. Let’s see how things turn out for their recent additions.
Sooner or later, one would expect the club to make some Rodgers-style signings as well. There have been rumours about moves for marquee players too. Thus, this is a very exciting time to be a Celtic fan for sure.
