After completing moves for Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio early on in the summer transfer window, things have moved a bit slowly for Celtic over the past few days. Now though, it looks like a third signing is not far away either and the Hoops appear to have agreed a deal, as they continue to strengthen Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

The Yang Hyun-jun transfer saga has run longer than anybody could have expected, when you consider that the player has been very interested in making the move to Celtic. Now though, things might finally be coming to a close, with the South Korean winger heading to Parkhead.

As reported by Sports Chosun (via Daily Record), a deal has been struck for Yang to join Celtic. A fee has been agreed in the region of £2.1million for the South Korean winger.

Thus, if things go according to expectations from here then we should see Yang holding up a Celtic jersey very soon. Let’s see how it plays out.

Yang is one of the most highly rated young talents in South Korean football right now. And it is not hard to understand why Gangwon FC might be reluctant to let him go in the middle of the season, especially when they are near the bottom of the K-League table.

A deal has not been announced officially yet so nothing should be taken for granted, but it does look like Yang will be a Celtic player soon. Let’s see what the 2022 K-League Young Player of the Year.

Yang is capable of playing on both wings, as a centre-forward, in the number 10 role or even as a central midfielder. Also, the South Korean youth international is just 21 years of age, meaning that there is a lot of room for improvement as well.
