Celtic have been excellent in recent times when it comes to identifying top talents from leagues all over the world and bringing them to Glasgow. That is one of the biggest reasons that they have been successful in winning five out of the last six domestic competitions in Scotland, when you consider that situation that the club were in after the 2020/21 campaign.
There were fears that Ange Postecoglou’s move to Tottenham Hotspur would force the club to change their transfer policy. But that has not been the case at all. Instead, they seem to be moving in the same direction even without the Australian manager.
One position that they were not able to find a solution to during the time of Postecoglou at Parkhead was defensive midfield. Will that change under the management of Brendan Rodgers?
Only time shall tell. But it is quite clear that the club have their transfer targets when it comes to defensive midfielders.
Celtic submit €1 million transfer offer for midfielder
As tweeted out by Jason Lee, Celtic have improved their offer for Kwon Hyeok-kyu from the winter, which is believed to be €1 million now. Busan IPark are looking favourably at the offer, and a deal is expected to be reached at this point in time.
Kwon is one of the most highly rated talents in South Korean football right now even though he is playing in the second division at this point of time with Busan IPark. Celtic are believed to have been following his development for a while.
If Celtic are able to sign Kwon, then it would have be considered as a smart move on their part, especially for a €1 million transfer fee. While it would not grab a lot of headlines, such a signing might end up solving a lot of the Hoops’ problems.
