Celtic are in an interesting situation right now. On one hand, they need to bring in fresh faces this summer in order to strengthen the squad, with three trophies to defend and Champions League group stage football coming up as well. Further, the roster needs to be reshaped to fit the vision and plans of Brendan Rodgers. Marco Tilio and Odin Thiago Holm have already been brought in and more reinforcements are expected.
On the other hand, there have been some departures as well. The big one has without doubt been that of Jota, who has left to join Al-Ittihad.
There have been a few youngsters who have headed out as well though, after having failed to break into the senior team at Parkhead. And another name has joined that list.
As tweeted out by Celtic FC B, Adam Brooks has completed a permanent move to Scottish Championship side, Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Celtic announce player’s exit to join Championship club
Inverness Caledonian Thistle currently play in the second division of Scottish football. While they failed to get promoted last season, they did make it to the Scottish Cup final, ultimately losing to Celtic at Hampden Park.
Brooks has been a standout for Celtic at the youth levels but failed to break into the senior team set up. Thus, a move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle might be a positive step for him at this stage of his career.
It remains to be seen how things turn out for Brooks. We can only wish him the best of luck for the future.
At the same time, it is worth pointing out the club’s inability to promote youth stars into the first-team in recent years, which has led to so many highly-rated prospects departing Parkhead without ever making an impact. Hopefully, things will change under the management of Rodgers.
