Celtic have already signed a couple of players this summer in the form of Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio. The headlines have recently been dominated by news of Jota’s potential exit though, as it looks like the Portuguese winger is closing in on a move to Al-Ittihad, in a move that will pocket the Hoops a £25 million transfer fee.
The club will need to strengthen this summer though. Brendan Rodgers will surely be keen to impress in his first season back as the manager of the club. They have a treble to defend and another guaranteed place in the Champions League group stages.
The club are starting to be linked with a few marquee signings lately. But at the same time, one area where the Hoops have shined in recent years is bringing in players from other continents, who are relatively unknown in Europe, and turning them into superstars at Parkhead.
As reported by Football Scotland, a transfer fee had already been agreed for the move of Yang Hyun-jun with Celtic set to shell out £2.1million for him with a 12 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal. But Gangwon FC have since stalled and are keen to keep the player for as long as possible.

Yang is believed to be very keen on making the move to Celtic. In fact, he has let it be known to the media. But nothing has materialised yet.
It is not hard to understand why Gangwon FC might be interested in keeping Yang at the club. They are in a difficult situation right now, near the bottom of the K-League. Thus, letting one of their star players go right now would not be ideal.
Let’s see if Celtic are successful in bringing Yang to the club this summer. Gangwon FC are believed to be open to him leaving in January.
