Celtic are in a very interesting situation right now. They need to strengthen their squad in the ongoing summer transfer window. Not only do they have three trophies to defend and a spot in the Champions League group stage, but they also have a new manager in place in the form of Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irishman will surely be keen to impress in his second stint in the Parkhead hot seat.

Celtic have already made a couple of promising additions to their squad this summer in the form of Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio. They are both exciting young talents, who are believed to have bright futures ahead of them.

On the other hand though, Celtic appear to be on the verge of losing one of their most important players. Jota is closing in on a move to Al-Ittihad.

Jota leaving would come as a major blow to Celtic without doubt. But it appears that they are set to pocket a massive transfer fee as a result of his upcoming exit.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Jota’s transfer looks set to be completed next week. The fee is gonna be around €30 million, and discussions are ongoing.

Thus, it looks like Celtic could potentially break the Scottish transfer record once again. The current one is held by Kieran Tierney, who joined Arsenal in a £25 million move back in 2019.

Of course, it will also be very important for the club to replace Jota. The Portuguese winger has been a nailed on starter for Celtic since he arrived in the summer of 2021.

He has also proven himself to be arguably Celtic’s most creative player, the one who can make something happen even when things are not going their way. Thus, fans will be hoping that the club shell out a big transfer fee in order to replace Jota properly.
