Celtic have a lot of players in their ranks right now, who have been linked with moves away from the club lately. It is not hard to understand why either, as they have enjoyed so much success over the past couple of seasons, winning five out of six domestic trophies under difficult circumstances. So, it remains to be seen how things play out in this summer transfer window.
One player who has been vital to Celtic’s success over the past couple of seasons is Jota, playing a starring role in each of their title triumphs. But it looks like his time at Parkhead is set to come to an end soon if things go according to plan.
There were several rumours about the futures of Reo Hatate and Kyogo but not as many about Jota. Yet, it looks like he is going to be the first one to head out of the exit door and has agreed terms to do so already.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Al-Ittihad have reached full agreement on personal terms with Jota. He has accepted the contract proposal. Negotiations are also underway between the clubs on the transfer fee.
Celtic player confirmed to have agreed terms to leave
It is hard to see Jota not joining Al-Ittihad from this situation. His exit from Celtic Park this summer has become pretty much inevitable.
It is not hard to see why he might want the move either, if the rumours are accurate. There have been suggestions that he will be putting pen to paper on a contract worth £10 million-a-year, if the transfer does happen.
On the other hand, it is believed that the transfer fee is going to be north of £20 million. So, while Celtic look set to lose one of their best players, they are going to get a huge amount in exchange.
