Celtic made a bright start to the summer by appointing Brendan Rodgers as the new manager and bringing in a couple of fresh faces in the form of Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio. But things have gone a bit south lately, as Jota seems to be on the verge of a move to Al-Ittihad. The Portuguese winger has been a nailed on starter for the Hoops since he arrived, so him leaving will be a blow for sure.

Other than Jota, several other Celtic stars have been linked with moves away as well. And the club must make sure that they keep the majority of their best players at Parkhead come next season.

One player whose future is in doubt at the moment is Kyogo. The Japanese forward scored 34 goals last season. Thus, it should come as no surprise that clubs from abroad are rumoured to hold an interest in him.

There is some great news regarding the matter though. As reported by Football Insider, Celtic will continue talks over a new deal for Kyogo when he returns from his break in Japan. The club are keen to offer him an improved contract.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Kyogo. But him staying on would be the best case scenario for Celtic for sure.

At the same time though, Kyogo is 28 years of age and does not have a big window to make a move to one of the top five European leagues, if that is what he wants to do. So, if an offer arrives this summer, one would expect him to at least give it a consideration.

Kyogo does have the chance to become a Celtic legend if he stays on for a few more years though. Let’s see what the Japanese international striker decides to do eventually.
