A number of Celtic’s players have been linked with a move away in recent weeks and months. It is not hard to see why either, considering how much success the club have enjoyed over the past couple of seasons. With Brendan Rodgers arriving as the new manager and a place guaranteed in the Champions League group stage, the Hoops will surely want to keep their best around. But that might not be entirely possible.

Celtic’s best players leaving is a familiar sight for the supporters and one that they have grown used to over the years. And could Reo Hatate be the next one out of the door.

Many believe that Hatate is the one out of Celtic’s current roster, who is the most Premier League-ready. He has been linked with Brighton & Hove Albion for months and a switch to Tottenham Hotspur more recently, following the arrival of Ange Postecoglou in London.

Frank McAvennie has tipped Hatate to leave this summer but wants Kyogo to stay on. As reported by Football Insider, the former Celtic player said:

"“I think Reo Hatate will leave the club this summer, but Kyogo must stay for another year.“After one more season at Celtic he would then be ready to walk into any team across Europe.“But if he leaves now he would not be ready to deal with the intensity of a stronger league, especially if he does decide to want to play in the Premier League.“An extra season at Celtic will be benefit him as he knows the club so he will get game time, and still manage to experience European football.”"

Hatate arrived at Celtic in January of 2022 from Kawasaki Frontale and has been a key player for the club since then. Not only has he been a standout performer for the Hoops in Scotland but he has not looked out of place in the Champions League either, against opposition like Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.

Thus, Hatate leaving the club in the near future would not come as a major surprise to be very honest. But the best case scenario would certainly be him staying on.

It is worth pointing out that Celtic have already added to their midfield department this summer, bringing in Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga. And they have been linked with other midfielders as well.
