Kyogo Furuhashi joined Celtic in the summer of 2021 and has established himself as a superstar since then. He scored 34 goals last season, playing a major part in the treble. It is not just the rate at which the Japanese striker scores though. He has proven himself as a man for the big moments as well. He has scored 5 goals in the 3 cup finals he has played for the Hoops and in several Glasgow Derbies as well.
Thus, it is important that Celtic keep Kyogo at the club for as long as possible. Questions have been raised about his Parkhead future though, following the exit of Ange Postecoglou, days after winning the treble.
Kyogo has been linked with a reunion with Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur. Thus, could the Japanese superstar be on his way out of Parkhead this summer?
As reported by the Daily Record, when asked about the possibility of a move to Tottenham Hotspur to reunite with Postecoglou, Kyogo said:
"“No comment. The future will bring what the future brings. I am only thinking about doing my best for the club I belong to now.”"
Celtic superstar reacts to Tottenham Hotspur rumours
Thus, Kyogo seems to be focused on Celtic. But at the same time, he did not rule out the idea of a move to Tottenham Hotspur either. Thus, it will be interesting to see how things unfold over the coming weeks and months.
Kyogo is believed to be happy with life at Celtic. But at the same time, things can change very quickly in football. So, we can only wait and see what the future holds for the Japanese player.
Much like Postecoglou, Kyogo does not have a lot of time on his hands, if he plans to move to the Premier League one day. He is 28 years of age already. At the same time though, he has the chance to become a legend at Celtic, if he decides to stay on at Parkhead for a few more years.
