Celtic have been linked with plenty of players in recent times, as the club look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. This team has enjoyed a lot of success over the past couple of seasons but Brendan Rodgers is now the ‘new’ manager of the club and the Northern Irishman will surely want to tweak things in order to fit his vision.

It remains to be seen if any key players depart this summer. On the other hand, they have already completed the signing of highly-rated Norwegian midfielder, Odin Thiago Holm. A move for Marco Tilio is believed to be close to completion as well with only a few hurdles remaining.

There are several other players who have been linked with a potential move to Celtic Park this summer. One of the more surprising names on that list is that of Rob Holding.

Holding is expected to leave Arsenal this summer, having struggled for minutes in Mikel Arteta’s side. But it looks like a move to Turkey is looking more likely for the defender than one to Scotland.

As reported by the Express, Holding is in talks with Besiktas over a possible loan deal this summer. The Turkish club are now leading the race for his signature.

Holding’s current contract runs out next summer. Thus, if he does leave on loan then the expectation would be for him to sign a short-term extension with Arsenal, in order to prevent him from becoming a free agent.

There would be both pros and cons for Celtic to signing someone like Holding. On one hand, he is an experienced Premier League centre-back who is 27 years of age right now. On the other hand, there has been only one season in his career, when the Englishman has been a regular starter for Arsenal.
