Celtic are moving quickly in the summer transfer window. They have already signed Odin Thiago Holm, who has come in with high expectations surrounding him. More signings are expected to be made over the coming weeks and months though, with three domestic titles to defend and a Champions League group stage campaign coming up.

All signs point towards Marco Tilio being Celtic’s second signing of the summer. The Australian appears to be closing in on a move to Parkhead.

Rumours broke out not too long ago that Celtic had agreed a transfer fee with Melbourne City FC to sign Tilio. And now, it looks like things have gone one step further.

As reported by the Daily Record, the Socceroo has also agreed terms. Now, the move is subject to a work permit and documentation being issued.

Thus, it looks like Celtic are on the verge of signing Tilio. And just like the Holm transfer, this has the potential to be a huge move for the club over the coming years.

Tilio is considered as one of the biggest talents in Australian football right now. At 21 years of age, he has already made quite a few appearances for the Socceroos. And according to stats from Transfermarkt, he has 20 goals and provided 19 assists in 82 appearances for Melbourne City FC till now.

Yes, there are some areas of his game that Tilio still needs to work on. But he is just 21 years of age and has plenty of time for development. Brendan Rodgers is certainly the type of manager who could get the best out of him.

It is also interesting that Celtic are closing in on the signing of Tilio, while Liel Abada is being linked with a move away from the club. Let’s see how things play out.
