Celtic have already announced their first signing of the summer in Odin Thiago Holm, who was signed from Valerenga. The Norwegian midfielder is considered a huge talent back in his homeland and many believe could be as good as Martin Odegaard. Thus, it is not hard to see why there is so much excitement surrounding the move at Parkhead.

Celtic might have won the treble last season, but it is quite clear that they do not intend to rest on their laurels. Their second signing of the summer might not be far away either.

Although Ange Postecoglou might have left the club for Tottenham Hotspur, it looks like the Hoops are ready to push ahead with the signing of one of the players who is believed to have been scouted during the Australian manager’s time at Parkhead. That is none other than Marco Tilio.

A report from Fox Sports goes on to read:

"Despite having lost Ange Postecoglou, Celtic is set to boost its Australian contingent with the signing of Socceroos attacker Marco Tilio from Melbourne City. The 21-year-old winger will join Socceroos teammate Aaron Mooy and assistant coach Harry Kewell at the Hoops, who last week confirmed the return of manager Brendan Rodgers to take over from the departed Postecoglou, who has taken charge of English Premier League club Tottenham."

Tilio currently plays for Melbourne City FC and is considered as one of the biggest talents in Australian football. He is just 21 years of age but has already made a big impression in the senior game, also representing the Socceroos, and a move to Europe only looks like a matter of time.

Of course, at his age, there are still quite a few areas of his game where Tilio needs to improve. But overall, the talent is certainly there for him to develop into a top player.

The rumours are also curious because Liel Abada is rumoured to be on his away out of Celtic this summer. And Tilio is certainly the profile of player who could replace the Israeli international in the Hoops’ squad. Now, fans will be waiting for the official announcement of the Australian winger’s arrival.
