Celtic have made a bright start to their summer transfer window, following the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as the new manager of the club. They have already announced the signing of Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga. A move to bring in Marco Tilio from Melbourne City FC is believed to be close as well. And the Hoops are being linked with plenty of other players too.

On the other hand, it will also be important for the club to keep their most important players moving forward. This squad has enjoyed tremendous success over the past couple of seasons, dominating Scotland and showing glimpses of promise in Europe as well.

One player who could be on his way out is Liel Abada. The Israeli international winger fell behind in the pecking order last season.

And as reported by the Daily Mail [print edition page 70] (via 67 Hail Hail), Abada has turned down a new contract and is looking to leave Celtic. Rodgers is looking to meet with ‘a number’ of the club’s players before flying out next month on the pre-season tour of Asia.

Abada might not have been a starter last season for Celtic but he certainly was an important part of the team. He showed that he can make a difference of the bench as well, consistently providing both goals and assists.

At the same time though, he will surely be looking for starting minutes. And he might feel that leaving the club this summer might be the right step for his career.

With a new manager in place in Rodgers, it remains to be seen if the situation changes. But at this point of time, Abada looks like one of the likeliest candidates to leave Parkhead in the ongoing summer transfer window.
