Celtic are in an interesting position right now in terms of their squad. With the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as manager and another Champions League group stage campaign coming up, the Hoops were always expected to make additions. At the same time though, they must make their that their best players remain at Parkhead.

One player who has been linked with a move away for some time now is Liel Abada. The Israeli international struggled for starts last season, falling behind Jota and Daizen Maeda in the pecking order.

There have been suggestions that he has been looking for a way out of Parkhead, with several clubs interested in signing him. Some rumours have even suggested that he has turned down a new contract offer from Celtic recently. That might not be accurate though.

As reported by Football Scotland, sources close to the situation have said that Abada has not knocked back a deal from the club as one has not been put to him in recent weeks. So, the suggestions are wide of the mark.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Abada. Several clubs are believed to keeping a close eye on his situation at Parkhead.

It is not hard to see why Abada might consider leaving this summer. He has not gotten enough starts in recent times. Of course, with a new manager arriving in the form of Rodgers, that could end up changing come next season.

Abada is certainly an important part of this Celtic team. It is interesting though that the club have been linked with several right wingers lately. And they are believed to be closing in on signing one as well in the form of Marco Tilio, who currently plays for Melbourne City FC.
