It is an exciting time to be a Celtic fan for sure. When Ange Postecoglou left for Tottenham Hotspur just days after winning the treble, the supporters were left worried about the future. But the club went out and made the best appointment possible by bringing back Brendan Rodgers for a second stint in the Parkhead hot seat.
It might not be the most popular decision, but it certainly feels like the right one. In his first stint at Celtic Park, Rodgers won all seven domestic trophies available to him. Proven winners like the Northern Irishman are hard to come by.
Of course, the club need to back him in the transfer window as well. Not only do they need to defend three trophies next season but have another guaranteed spot in the Champions League group stages as well.
And there seems to be an exciting update surrounding Celtic’s plans for the summer transfer window following the appointment of Rodgers. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Dean Jones said:
"“Yeah, I think Celtic will look to follow up the Rodgers news with some more exciting additions over the next couple of weeks. They really need some players that will reignite the passion of last season. They don’t want this to fizzle out, this feeling they’ve had.”"
Journalist drops superb Celtic summer transfer update
Celtic have already started to add to their squad this summer. They have announced the signing of Odin Thiago Holm, who is one of the brightest talents in Norwegian football right now. A move for Marco Tilio of Melbourne City FC is also believed to be close.
On the other hand, they have been linked with a trio of players from the K-League. And also a few who were playing their football under the management of Rodgers down south last season at Leicester City.
At the same time, it will also be interesting to see which players leave Celtic in the summer. Under ideal circumstances, they will be able to keep the best ones for another run in the Champions League but plenty of them have been linked with moves away recently.
