With Brendan Rodgers now in place as the manager of Celtic once again, the club have started to make their moves in the summer transfer window. The arrival of Odin Thiago Holm has been a welcome one for sure, as he is one of the biggest talents in Norwegian football today. On the other hand, a deal for Marco Tilio is rumoured to be close as well.

Celtic have also been linked with a trio of K-League players. As well as Ivorian striker, Bernie Traore, who is currently playing his football in the Swedish top flight.

Many fans had feared that with Ange Postecoglou leaving the club, there would be a change in the transfer policy, that had served them so well over the past couple of seasons. The players that Celtic seem to be targeting suggests otherwise though.

In Rodgers’ previous stint as the manager of the club, Celtic had mostly signed players from down south or the Scottish Premiership itself. But this time around, it looks like things could be different.

Rodgers ends Celtic fans’ major transfer fear

As reported by The Herald, Rodgers said:

"“You have knowledge of certain markets or knowledge that you might be able to get a player that’s just become available.“I know how I want the team to play. Celtic as a club it’s about offensive, aggressive, attacking football.“What I am coming into is a team that’s playing that way. We’ll just look at adapt that and make changes.“In terms of recruitment I am the one that knows how I want the team to play and I have to be involved in those discussions and I will be.“Some of those markets haven’t been as readily available to some clubs, that’s something Mark has brought with him in his roles.“I’m thinking of the Japanese market, the Korean market, Australia and out into Asia.“These were players that were untapped and you’re now seeing other clubs trying to tap into that.”"

This is certainly great news for Celtic. The club have certainly been successful in discovering some gems over the past couple of seasons like Kyogo, Jota, Reo Hatate and plenty more. And it is good to see that they are set to continue with pretty much the same transfer strategy under the management of Rodgers as well.

Of course, Rodgers has already proven himself as a success in Scotland, winning seven trophies the last time around. And he might very well be a better manager now than he was back then. After leaving, he won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Leicester City, got them fifth in the Premier League on two occasions and competed against, and got the better of, managers like Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and more.
