Transfer business appears to be picking up at Celtic Park, just days into Brendan Rodgers’ second stint as manager of the Hoops. The club have already announced the signing of Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga. The Norwegian talent is extremely highly rated in his homeland and has even earned comparisons with Martin Odegaard.

On the other hand, rumours have also suggested that Celtic have agreed a deal to sign Marco Tilio from Melbourne City FC. He is one of the brightest talents in Australian football right now.

Thus, it looks like Celtic are continuing to look at some of the leagues, which most European clubs do not. And now, it looks like they have multiple players from the K-League in their sights.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are scouting Gwangju duo, Eom Ji-sung and Jeong Ho-yeon. It is believed that the club have already made initial contact with South Korean side Gangwon regarding Yang Hyun-jun.

This is great to see. Celtic enjoyed a lot of success under the management of Ange Postecoglou, signing players from these leagues and discovering hidden gems in the process.

It is good that the club have not completely given up that transfer policy, now that the Australian manager is no longer at the club. And while Rodgers is expected to have his own ideas, it is also important that the great things about Postecoglou’s run carried over into the future as well.

Eom and Jeong both play for K League side, Gwangju, who currently sit at 8th in the South Korean top flight. The former is a left winger, while the latter is a defensive midfielder. Thus, it is quite clear that Celtic are looking to strengthen in several positions across the pitch this summer.
