Celtic linked with move for superb Brazilian winger
With Brendan Rodgers returning for a second stint as Celtic manager, rumours have suggested that the club are ready to splash out in this transfer window with an aim to continue their dominance in Scotland and make an impact in Europe. They have already pulled off the signing of Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga.
Holm is a very highly-rated Norwegian talent who has shown glimpses of absolute brilliance and earned comparisons to Martin Odegaard already. If he can reach his potential, he could be a sensational player for Celtic for years to come.
Of course, more additions are needed, especially if some head out of the exit door. And the club are being linked with a Brazilian winger.
Rumours doing the rounds online have linked Celtic with a move for Tete. Rodgers has already worked with the Brazilian winger, as he spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City.
Celtic linked with move for superb Brazilian winger
Tete was on loan at Leicester City from Shakhtar Donetsk. He failed to meet expectations there. But before that, he was superb during his temporary spell at Lyon. And his numbers at Shakhtar Donetsk are great as well.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Tete has scored 31 goals and provided 15 assists in 108 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk. For Lyon, he scored 8 goals and provided 10 assists in 30 appearances.
Thus, there is no question about Tete’s talent and potential, despite of his underwhelming spell at Leicester City, which produced only a solitary goal. At 23 years of age, the Brazilian winger has plenty of time and room for improvement as well.
So, if Celtic are able to sign a player like Tete, it would be a statement of intent on the part of the club. The rumours are even more interesting because Liel Abada has been linked with a move away for months and the Brazilian could be his replacement.
