Celtic have made a bright start in the summer transfer window, already announcing the signing of Norwegian talent, Odin Thiago Holm. The youngster is very highly rated and has earned comparisons with Martin Odegaard back in his homeland. Thus, this has the potential to be a remarkable signing for the Hoops in the long run, if he can fulfil his potential.

Celtic have been excellent when it comes to identifying talents in the past couple of years. And even with Ange Postecoglou no longer at the club, one would hope that that would continue to be the case moving forward as well.

If there is one complaint that Celtic fans have had in recent times though, it is their inability to bring through their own youth stars into the first-team fold. One would be hoping that Rodgers is able to develop some youngsters into starters.

Of course, the club have not been helped by the fact that some of their most highly-rated youngsters have left before breaking into the first-team picture. And another one appears to be on his way to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton & Hove Albion agree deal to sign Celtic defender

As reported by the Daily Record, Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a £250,000 deal to sign Ronan Ferns from Celtic. The defender will join the Seagulls this summer.

Ferns was very highly rated at the youth levels and Celtic were believed to be keen to keep him at the club. But like so many before him, the 16-year-old has decided to head down south and try his luck.

Brighton & Hove Albion have been excellent when it comes to identifying and developing players in recent years. Thus, it is not hard to see why the idea of a move there might have attracted Ferns. Let’s see how things go for him.
