Kyogo has been absolutely brilliant for Celtic since arriving in the summer of 2021 and was the best player in Scotland last season, as the Hoops lifted the treble. There is no doubt though that the Japanese forward was signing made by Ange Postecoglou. And with the Australian having departed the club, one has to wonder what the future holds for the 28-year-old as well.

Celtic cannot afford to let Kyogo go at this point of time. He scored 34 goals for the club last season, including three in the two cup finals combined.

Thus, Kyogo is vital to this team and then some. Of course, that kind of form means that there will be no lack of interest in his signature this summer. Even Tottenham Hotspur has been suggested as a potential destination for the Japanese international.

As reported The Herald, when asked to comment on the managerial situation at Celtic, Kyogo said:

"“My ambition this season was to win all three trophies and win the Player of the Year and I have managed that.“I was able to do that because I had a lot of support from my teammates.“But right now, I want to have a long rest and think about things after that.“I am delighted I was able to end a great season for me on a high.”"

Those do sound like the comments of someone who is keeping his options open. Now, it remains to be seen how things will play out over the course of the summer.

Celtic fans will be hoping that Kyogo remains at the club for as long as possible. He has the chance to be a Parkhead legend if he does. He has already scored in three cup finals, and won a couple of league titles for the Hoops.

At the same time though, the same could have been said about Postecoglou and he left days after winning the treble. So, one can only wait and see how things materialise over the coming weeks and months. Also, it is important to understand what Rodgers’ plans are for Kyogo.

If Kyogo does end up leaving Celtic this summer, then the club will need to find someone who can replace his output up top as well as perform in the big games. That won’t be an easy task.
