Celtic will need to strengthen their squad this summer. Not only do they have three domestic titles to defend but a guaranteed spot in the Champions League group stage as well. The Hoops were not able to win a single game in the competition last season, despite putting in some promising displays. They will surely be looking to go a step further this time around, and pick up some victories against Europe’s elite.

One thing that let Celtic down in the Champions League last season was their finishing. They did more than enough to get something out of a few of the games, but struggled to find the back of the net despite creating some glorious chances.

Since then, Giorgos Giakoumakis has left the club and has been replaced by Oh Hyeon-gyu. Kyogo is still at Celtic, and in fantastic form. They could do with another striker though.

One of the players that they have been linked with in recent times is Slovenian international striker, Zan Vipotnik. But other clubs seem to be looking to sign him as well.

As reported by L’Equipe, according to Slovenian media, FC Metz are negotiating with NK Maribor for the transfer of Vipotnik. The French club are preparing the succession of Georges Mikautadze.

Thus, it looks like Celtic have some competition for the signature of Vipotnik. The Slovenian was in excellent form last season and found the back of the net on 23 occasions. Thus, it is not hard to see why he is wanted by many.

FC Metz will be playing in the Ligue 1 next season, having won promotion. On the other hand, Celtic can offer Vipotnik the chance not just to win domestic trophies in Scotland but to play in the Champions League as well.
