It is official, Brendan Rodgers is back as Celtic manager. When he had left the club a little over four years back, in the middle of the season to join Leicester City, not many would have expected him to make a return so soon. Yet, the timing might be perfect. There are no better managers available right now than the Northern Irishman, and he is someone who can take Ange Postecoglou’s place in the Parkhead hot seat.

Celtic have shown immense ambition in going out and bringing back Rodgers. And the board must be commended for that.

Rodgers is already a proven success at Celtic Park, having won seven trophies in his first run with the club, including a couple of trebles and an Invincible season as well.

Of course, fans will be hoping for a similar period of dominance. And Celtic have had to make a big commitment in order to bring the Northern Irishman back to Parkhead.

Rodgers’ salary and Celtic transfer budget

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Rodgers will earn close to £3 million per year in a record-breaking contract until 2026. On top of that, he has been handed a £30 million transfer kitty as well.

That is a big statement on the part of the club for sure. It is quite clear that they are ready to back Rodgers, as he tries to continue their dominance in Scotland while also making progress in Europe.

Of course, Celtic have not made any signings this summer till now, as they were sorting the managerial situation. But now that Rodgers is in place, fans will be expecting some big signings.

On the other hand, it is also important that they keep hold of their best players. Most of them were brought under the management of Postecoglou but hopefully they will be keen to work with Rodgers too.
