Brendan Rodgers is the new Celtic manager, and he is expected to come with his own set of ideas. The club have been sensational over the last few years when it comes to identifying and signing some very underrated talents from across the world, and turning them into household names at Parkhead.

That strategy might have served them very well under the management of Ange Postecoglou. But one should expect some changes to that, now that Rodgers is the one in the Parkhead hot seat.

The Northern Irishman will surely want to work with players he already knows well. And Celtic are being linked with one of Leicester City’s best from Rodgers’ run at the club.

As reported by the Daily Mail (via 67 Hail Hail), Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi is a target for the new Celtic manager.

It was not too long ago that Ndidi was considered by many as the best holding midfielder in the Premier League. The Nigerian international was also being linked with a move to some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Last season, Ndidi did seem to struggle though. In the past, Leicester City used to dominate games when he was on the pitch, but that was no longer the case. And the Nigerian’s loss of form was one of the biggest reasons behind the Foxes’ inability to stay up in the Premier League.

With Leicester City now in the English second division, one would expect players like Ndidi to leave the club. And the presence of Rodgers could boost Celtic’s chances of signing him.

At the same time though, the club must be careful before making a move for Ndidi. He struggled badly last season and many believe that injuries over the years have taken their toll on the all-action midfielder.
