The fact that Brendan Rodgers has not been announced as the new manager of Celtic already has left a lot of fans nervous, as they have been fearing a repeat of the Eddie Howe saga from a couple of years back. All signs point towards the Northern Irishman being the man to replace Ange Postecoglou though and it would be a major surprise if he is not in the Parkhead hot seat come next season.

Of course, Rodgers will have his work cut out, if or when he is named the Celtic manager for the second time. On one hand, he has the task of replacing Postecoglou, who won five trophies in two seasons at the club.

On the other hand, he also has to win over a large section of the fanbase. Many were left bitterly disappointed when Rodgers left Celtic in the middle of the season in order to join Leicester City four years back.

Of course, nothing will get the fans back on his side like success. Rodgers has already won seven trophies as Celtic manager. And he will surely be eyeing more.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Rodgers will have coach, John Kennedy, by his side. He has been successful in persuading the highly regarded 39-year-old to remain at Parkhead amidst links with a move to Tottenham Hotspur to reunite with Postecoglou.

Of course, Kennedy has had his fair share of critics over the years. But it is quite clear that he is very highly rated by anybody who has worked with him.

Thus, it is great news that Kennedy will be staying on at his boyhood club. Now, we wait for the official announcement of Rodgers as the new manager of Celtic and summer signings to strengthen the squad.
