It looks like Celtic’s search for their next manager is set to come to an end soon. All signs point towards Brendan Rodgers being the man in the Parkhead hot seat come next season, as the Northern Irishman inches towards a sensational return to the club he left in the middle of the season over four years ago.

As a result, the potential appointment of Rodgers would not go down well with everyone and he will have to win over the fans. There is no better way to do that than winning trophies.

That is something Rodgers knows how to do very well. He won seven trophies, every domestic one available to him, in his first stint at Celtic. And if he can achieve similar results once again, the support will be delighted.

Of course, a deal is not completely over the line yet and nothing is official. As a result, the club must keep an eye on alternative targets, just in case something unexpected happens. And it looks like they have spoken to four other managers.

As reported by The Mail+, Celtic have also spoken to the likes of Enzo Maresca, Daniel Farke, Francesco Farioli and Kieran McKenna, reluctant to place all their eggs in the same basket.

There are some very talented managers on that list. But none of them are proven winners like Rodgers. As a result, he might be the best man for the Parkhead job at this point of time.

Not many would have expected to see Rodgers back in the Celtic hot seat, just four years after he left under controversial circumstances. Football is a funny game though. Things change very quickly. And it might be time for supporters to forgive and forget, as we head into a new chapter.
