Celtic find themselves in a very interesting position right now. Their biggest focus right now has to be on finding the next manager of the club, following Ange Postecoglou’s departure, mere days after sealing a treble. It is quite clear that they need to improve the squad as well, if they are to retain their domestic titles and also make a mark in the UEFA Champions League group stage in the upcoming campaign.

Celtic appear to be close to bringing back Brendan Rodgers to Parkhead for a second stint in the hot seat. And once that is over the line, one would expect them to start signing players as well.

On the other hand, it looks like one players are already agreeing moves away from Parkhead. One of them is highly rated defender Ewan Otoo.

As reported by the Daily Record, Dunfermline Athletic are closing on a deal to sign Otoo from Celtic. They have agreed a deal to land the youngster on a permanent basis.

Otoo has already spent time on loan at Dunfermline Athletic. And now, it looks like he is set to join the club on a permanent basis.

Otoo has come through the youth ranks at Celtic and is very highly rated. At the same time though, he is yet to make his debut at the senior level for the club at 20 years of age.

There is heavy competition at centre-back in the senior team as well. Thus, chances of Otoo getting too many opportunities in the senior team next season are slim to none. So, it might be the best step for him to leave this summer and join a club where he will get first-team football. If he does indeed depart, we can only wish him the best moving forward.
