Brendan Rodgers set to agree Celtic return on one condition
Brendan Rodgers looks to be inching towards a stunning return to Celtic. Even a week ago, not many fans would have seen this as a realistic possibility. Yet now, it looks like the Northern Irishman is the heavy favourite to replace Ange Postecoglou in the Parkhead hot seat come next season.
Rodgers has already enjoyed a super successful spell at Celtic Park, winning seven trophies. Yet, the manner of his exit, in the middle of the season to join Leicester City, means that his appointment won’t be a popular one amongst a lot of the supporters.
Yet, nobody can deny his quality as a manager. And considering the options available, and the ones Celtic have been linked with, Rodgers might be the best choice for the vacant Parkhead hot seat.
It looks like Rodgers has big ambitions as well. The Northern Irishman appears to be focusing on Europe, ahead of a potential return to Parkhead.
Rodgers set to agree Celtic return on one condition
As reported by The Mail+, key to Rodgers agreeing to a Parkhead return is an undertaking by Celtic’s board of directors that they will make necessary investments to drive the club forward in Europe.
Of course, if Rodgers does get the backing of the club, he can achieve some big things at Parkhead. He has proven himself almost everywhere he has been.
The last time around at Parkhead, he dominated the Scottish game and transformed Celtic into the treble-winning machine that we know today. Their performances and results in Europe did leave a lot to be desired though.
It remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get a deal over the line for Rodgers. All signs seem to be pointing in that direction though and it will be interesting to see how the fans welcome the Northern Irishman back to Parkhead, if or when it happens.
