Late night news about Celtic’s next manager search
The biggest question surrounding Celtic at the moment is regarding the next manager of the club. Ange Postecoglou left days after guiding them to a treble. And now, the Hoops have been left with some big boots to fill. There are not many managers who could have done the job that the Australian did during his two seasons at Parkhead, delivering five trophies.
It remains to be seen who the club end up bringing in. They have been linked with a long list of names over the past week or so.
It looks like a managerial appointment is getting close though. And it is a name that is sure to create some controversy amongst the supporters.
As reported by The Guardian, Celtic are close to bringing back Brendan Rodgers. Talks between the manager, Dermot Desmond and other members of the club’s board have progressed positively to the point where a move is all but sealed. Other than a late and unexpected change of heart, it looks like the Hoops have their man.

Rodgers is without doubt a top manager. He won seven trophies at Celtic and was a major success at Leicester City as well, guiding them to an FA Cup and a Community Shield, as well multiple European qualifications.
In fact, it was the manner of his Celtic exit to join Leicester City, that hurt his reputation amongst the fans. But very few will deny that he is most probably the best manager available for the Hoops the right now.
Even a few days ago, a Parkhead return for Rodgers looked unlikely. But now, it is starting to feel like only a matter of time. One can only hope that he gets the kind of backing, that Postecoglou got from the club, if he does arrive.
