Celtic will need to bring in a top quality manager to replace Ange Postecoglou. The Australian might have stayed at the club for only a couple of seasons, but it was a very successful time without doubt. The Hoops ended up winning five trophies, far exceeding any expectations that were there when the appointment was made amidst a cloud of doubts and concerns.

Postecoglou proved himself as an exceptional manager though. And there is a reason that he has ended up at Tottenham Hotspur. It is not often that you see someone leave Celtic directly for a Premier League Big Six club.

Now, it remains to be seen who Celtic bring in as his replacement. A long list of managers have been linked with the Parkhead job over the past few days.

Amidst all of them, the best pick might be Brendan Rodgers. It won’t be a popular appointment, considering how he left in the middle of the season last time around to join Leicester City. But there is no doubt about the Northern Irishman’s quality.

Rodgers news emerges about Celtic return

There had been rumours that Rodgers was not looking to return to Celtic Park at this point of time. But now, it looks like they might not be accurate.

As reported by the Daily Record, Rodgers hasn’t ruled out returning to Celtic as their new manager. Dermot Desmond is a huge admirer of the Northern Irishman.

Rodgers would be as close to a guaranteed success as Celtic could find at this point of time. It was under his management the first time around that the Hoops were transformed into the treble-winning machine, who ultimately went on to win twelve straight trophies in Scottish football. He won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Leicester City as well. Thus, bringing back the Northern Irishman to Parkhead would make a lot of sense on paper.
