Celtic hero tips English manager for vacant Parkhead job
Celtic are in search of their next manager with Ange Postecoglou leaving the club in the summer to take over at Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian exceeded all expectations at Parkhead, winning five trophies in two seasons. Thus, we can only thank him and wish him the best for his next challenge, but it also time to move on and bring in someone who can fill his boots.
A variety of names have been linked with the Celtic job. Some names have been met with excitement from the fans, others not so much.
It is the job of the club to make sure that the right appointment is made though. Postecoglou’s arrival was not a popular one either but it proved to be an incredible success.
Two names that a lot of Celtic fans have been calling for are Graham Potter and Kjetil Knutsen. And it looks like a club hero agrees with that sentiment.

As reported by Football Scotland, while speaking on BBC Sportsound, Johan Mjallby said:
"“I would go for Knutsen or Potter. I’ve followed Bodo/Glimt quite a lot. They play the kind of football quite similar to the Ange way. Knutsen is experienced.“(Potter) would be a good fit as well. Unfortunately the Chelsea job didn’t go as well as we all thought but he’s a very, very good coach. He creates a great atmosphere. That is a very good name.”"
Potter is coming off of a terrible run at Chelsea. That spell has raised questions about his ability to coach at a top club where the pressure is on to win almost every game. Thus, there would be some doubts for sure if he was appointed by the Hoops, even though he did a fantastic job at Brighton & Hove Albion.
On the other hand, Knutsen is someone that Celtic fans are well aware of, having faced his Bodo/Glimt side in the 2021/22 campaign and losing 5-1 to them on aggregate. But in his case as there are some doubt as well.
He had not found much success before arriving at Bodo/Glimt. And he has never managed outside of Norway either. Thus, one has to wonder whether he could do a job at Celtic?
