The Celtic managerial search is an interesting one for sure. The club need someone with top quality to replace Ange Postecoglou, following the Australian’s move to Tottenham Hotspur. Of course, that is easier said than done, as he delivered five trophies in just two seasons at Parkhead. There’s not many who can replicate that kind of success.

A variety of managers have been linked with the Parkhead job over the past few days. Now, it remains to be seen who they end up going for.

The likes of Enzo Maresca and Brendan Rodgers appear to be the early favourites when it comes to the bookies. But it looks like the club might have their eyes set on one of their former players as well.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are planning a move for David Moyes as they have made the West Ham United boss him their number one managerial target. He is the man the board want most to replace Postecoglou in the Parkhead hot seat.

Of course, Moyes has all the experience in the world, having spent time at clubs like Manchester United, West Ham United, Everton and quite a few others. It will be difficult to bring him to Glasgow this summer though.

West Ham United might have had a poor domestic campaign, but Moyes was successful in guiding them to glory in Europe, winning the UEFA Europa Conference League. It was their first major honour in decades.

Thus, it would be a very unpopular decision if the club allowed Moyes to leave this summer. Of course, the Scot has history with Celtic, having started his playing career there and has been linked with the managerial hot seat on a number of occasions over the years even though it has never transpired.
