Celtic continue to search for Ange Postecoglou’s replacement, something that is much easier said than done. The Australian did a tremendous job at Parkhead, winning five trophies in just two seasons. Thus, the Hoops will need to bring in a top quality manager, if they want to build on that success.
A long list of names have been thrown around in the media already, when it comes to the Parkhead job. And it will be interesting to see how many of them the Hoops are really after.
Of course, it is very possible that they go for a left field choice out of nowhere, like they did with Postecoglou last time around. The latest name to be linked with the Parkhead job is a highly-rated manager proving his mettle in the Netherlands.
As reported by 90min, AZ Alkmaar coach Pascal Jansen is on Celtic’s radar, as they continue their search for Postecoglou’s replacement.
Celtic eyeing highly-rated manager for Parkhead job
Jansen had an extensive coaching career before finally being promoted into the role of a manager. And he has certainly impressed.
His AZ Alkmaar team have done well both in the Dutch league as well as in Europe. And thus, it is not hard to see why Jansen might have caught the eye of Celtic as they try to replace the big boots of Postecoglou.
It will be interesting to see if Celtic do end up making a move for Jansen or not. He is certainly someone though who has the potential to be a solid choice.
Despite being born in England, Jansen has never coached or managed in the United Kingdom, having moved to the Netherlands at a young age. Of course, it will not be easy to bring him to Parkhead. Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are both believed to be showing an interest too.
